We invite you to discover the wonderful cities of Salamanca and Toledo declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

We will have the incredible opportunity to experience the great celebration of the grape harvest, which is held once a year and during which, learn to collect the grapes in the vineyard itself, drink from the wine boot, tread the grapes barefoot to get the must and enjoy in the company of wonderful people, a party with a lot of folk music, a giant and delicious buffet and barbecue and of course, a lot of wine! 

All this, from the hand of people proud of their land and their culture that, in an artisanal way, they work their products and their lands, to offer the best, with their dedication, kindness and their smile.

We will also visit an impressive factory / dryer of Iberian hams where we will learn the truth about the authentic ibericham and we will taste it in quantity with a good wine.

Madrid is the European capital that has absorbed most regional cuisines of our country. When Philip II made it the capital of Spain, migrants who arrived en masse of the most diverse regions of Spanish brought their culinary traditions. So enjoy its rich and varied cuisine¡ 

Madrid, the vibrant and modern capital of Spain, will surprise you with its majestic historical quarters and magnificent avenues, monuments, gardens, and large variety of cultural activities and excellent taverns and restaurants.

Day 11 Oct.- D

  • Pick-up at the airport- private transfer by Vip minibus to a wonderful hotel in the heart of Salamanca ( 2 hours and a half) , a 15th-century palace, restored and decorated with an exquisite taste to turn it into a truly exclusive hotel. It is located in the heart of the old town so you can discover this great city, a world heritage site.
  • Check in. Welcome dinner.

Day 12 Oct.- B/L

  • Check out . Excursión to Guijuelo ( 45min.)
  • Visit an Iberian ham drying shed. Did you know that Iberian Cured Ham is unique in the world and it is made with pure Iberian pork leg from acorn-fed pigs?
  • The particular micro-climate of this region originates the unequalled and finest of Iberian cured ham in the world. You will have the chance to visit the installations of one of the best ham producers in a village near Salamanca. One of his owners will explain us the secret of how the “blacked hoof pigs “are reared and their production methods: Serrano means “from the mountains”, as the cool dry mountain air offers the perfect conditions for the curing process.
  • Return to Salamanca ( 45min.)
  • Guided visit. Within Salamanca you will find little streets brimming with history and life, and you will easily fall in love with this city of centennial stones, with its universities, with one of the most beautiful Romanesque cathedral in Europe, its spectacular baroque style “plaza Mayor”, palaces and convents, and also its taxing cuisine with its traditional country ambrosia of flavours.
  • Among its many monuments we will not miss the spectacular Main Square, the University and its Cathedral.

Day 13 Oct- B/L

  • Great vintage /harvesting wine party from 12 to approximately 7 pm.
  • We will have the incredible opportunity to experience the great celebration of the grape harvest, which is held once a year in the vineyards, and during which, you will learn how to pick the grapes in the vineyard itself, drink from the wine boot , will tread the grape barefoot to get the must and enjoy in the company of wonderful people, a party with a lot of folk music, a giant and delicious buffet with barbecue and of course, as much wine as you wish¡
  • Return to the hotel, rest, and if you’re still hungry, enjoy tapas in the city.

Day 14 -B /L

Check out, Excursion to Toledo ( 2 hours)

  • Toledo is one of the Spanish cities with the greatest wealth of monuments. Known as the “city of the three cultures”, because Christians, Arabs and Jews lived together there for centuries, behind its walls Toledo preserves an artistic and cultural legacy in the form of churches, palaces, fortresses, mosques and synagogues. This great diversity of artistic styles makes the old quarter of the capital of La Mancha a real open-air museum, which has led to it being declared a World Heritage Site.
  • Your guide will meet you at the train station. Within a walking distance, He will take you and explain to you the great history and leyends of this magic place . You will enter to admire one of the biggest cathedrals of the world , The jewish church and the famous GRECO painting.
  • We will finish the visit with the pleasure of trying the famous artisan “marzipan” of Toledo. A fresh sweet very tempting.
  • Lunch at a typical restaurant where you will taste the specialties.
  • Rest of the afternoon free for shopping and back to Madrid ( 45 min) to our modern hotel, also located in an old palace, located in the centre of Madrid, so you can go and get to know the atmosphere of this fascinating city.

 

Day 15.- B/L

Guided cultural and tapas tour to know the history and gastronomy of Madrid.

  • Your guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel. Your guide will lead you on a private walk ( about 4 hours ) through some interesting sites which currently form part of what is known as the Madrid of the Hapsburgs, in the area surrounding the beautiful arcaded Main Square (Plaza Mayor) , the amazing Royal Palace, just in the beautiful Opera plaza, and visiting gorgeous bars and cheerful old taverns at the most famous tapas quarter, telling you fantastic legends of the history of Madrid. Of course we will visit The San Miguel Market, meeting point for friends to start a tapas experience.
  • Snacking and drinking your way through the evening from bar to bar is incredibly Spanish, and can be lots of fun. Grabbing a “tapa”, a small portion of food, and a drink at one place just leads to someone saying “lets go to that place down the street,” where they might offer a better tapa. Anything from shrimps cooked in garlic, clams in sherry sauce, ham croquettes with a béchamel sauce, stuffed peppers, pickles on cocktail sticks, , cheeses and hams,….can be enjoyed as a tapa…just delicious¡¡¡
  • Afternoon on your own.

Day 16 .- B/L/D

  • Hands on Cooking Class. The chef will welcome you with a glass of wine. In a very friendly and nice atmosphere, the Chef will give you some instructions: , some of you will be cutting the fruit for the sangria, other the potatoes for the omelette or the vegetables for the paella and so on. ( we have many menus available, please ask for options)The Chef will also teach you some about Spanish gastronomy, its most representative products (such us olive oil, Iberian ham…) as well as some culinary tips.
  • In the culminating stage, participants will set the table and sit down all together and enjoy the fruits of their efforts, accompanied by the delicious typical Spanish drink, “sangria” or top Spanish wines.
  • Free afternoon and Farewell dinner with flamenco show, authentic dance with professionals of this great art.

Día 17 – B

  • Check out. Transfer to airport, End of services .
