Private hands-on Cooking class at Chefs home in Madrid

This experience is designed for anyone who wishes to enjoy an authentic preparation of a family daily menu at a Spanish Chefs home, and for those who would like to share those typical Spanish recipes with their friends back home.

Our meeting point will be the Chefs home for the ”hands on” cooking lesson. It is located at the neighbourhood of Aravaca at the outskirts of Madrid, 11 km of distance from city Centre.

The chef will welcome you with a glass of wine. In a very friendly and nice atmosphere, the Chef and following her instructions , some of them will be cutting the fruit for the sangria, other the potatoes for the omelette or the vegetables for the paella and so on. The Chef will also teach you some about Spanish gastronomy, its most representative products (such us olive oil, Iberian ham…) as well as some culinary tips.

In the culminating stage, participants will set the table and sit down all together and enjoy the fruits of their efforts, accompanied by the delicious typical Spanish drink, “sangria” or top Spanish wines.

Some Menu suggestions

Starters (to choose one)–

• Spanish omelette or Gazpacho. (tomatoes and vegetable cold soup with Strawberries or watermelon in season ¡)
• Potato and squids /octopus stew
• Catalan coca (similar to pizza) with Spanish vegetables and sardines(optional)
• Ensaladilla rusa (potatoes, vegetables and mayonnaise cold salad…)

Main Dish (to choose one)–

• Chicken , Shellfish or vegetarian Paella(rice)
• Fideua ( similar to paella but with short pasta instead of rice)
• Black rice and squids( cooked with the ink of squids/calamari)
• Cod fish with spinach and pear mayonnaise sauce.
• Baked Gilthead seabream or Seabass with potatoes and vegetables
• Pork sloin with honey sauce
  

Dessert–

• Cheese spanish cake (similar to “flan”)
• Apple flowers
• Apple Buñuelos ( fried applerings with sweet dough)
• Sweet Pears with red wine

Drink: Sangria or Spanish wine , water.

*Tapas menu also available ( croquettes, spanish omelette, ensaladilla rusa, prawns with garlic sauce, sautéed mushrooms, “tigers” (fried muscles) etc)
