Acorn-fed Iberian Ham Route: Discover the world of iberian ham, considered a gastronomic jewel. Spain has 4 Denominations of Origin (D.O.) and you will be able to know first hand, 3 of them, to learn about the truth of the authentic Iberian acorn-fed ham, how to differentiate it from the rest, and know all its meticulous process of elaboration, from the essential acorn feeding of the pigs in the pasture to its drying process for years.... You will learn a lot about the local gastronomy, tasting the best ham, cheese and wine, which you will taste in wineries, as well as typical regional dishes.
During the route we will visit great cities, some Arab, others medieval or Roman, declared World Heritage Sites, and you will enjoy a wonderful landscape of extensive pastures of oaks and cork oaks and typical Andalusian white villages with lots of charm.
All this, from the hand of people proud of their land and their culture that, in an artisan way, work their products and their lands, to offer you the best, with their dedication, kindness and their smile.

Day 1- D/L
Arrival at the airport or train station in Seville.
- Our Sevillian guide will welcome you and take you on a magical route through the center of Seville, during which you can not only admire the beautiful cathedral, the Giralda and the Alcazar and learn about their history and legends, but also enjoy a route of caps by bars with a lot of tradition where you will taste exquisite Andalusian specialties.
- Departure to Aracena ( approx. 1h 15m).
- Visit to the grotto of wonders. Many millions of years, 570 no less, for the marbles to emerge and take on such peculiar shapes. Walking through this grotto is like stepping into a time tunnel.....simply marvelous.
- Check in at a charming hotel. Free time at leisure.
Day 2 - B/L
- Today we will enjoy a great gastronomic day. During the morning, visit to organic cheese farm, where you will learn about the production process, make your own cheese and taste 6 different types of cheese with wine.
- Visit a dryer of Iberian ham from the Huelva D.O. (soon from Jabugo)., tasting, a great tasting, we will see the elaboration process and visit the pasture where the Iberian pigs are raised in freedom.
- Trip to Zafra ( 1 h.) 18:15 Visit to prestigious winery. Tasting of its wines.
- Check in at a charming hotel. Free time at leisure.
Day 3- - B/L
- Visit to 2nd Iberian dryer D.O Extremadura with tasting.
- Trip to the spectacular natural park of Cornalvo ( 1h aprox) For visit to black merina deer and sheep farm. An unforgettable experience in the hands of their owners, ending with lunch in a typical Andalusian farmhouse or restaurant in Merida of the same owner (depending on group size).
- We will visit Merida, an impressive Roman archaeological site declared a World Heritage Site.
- Trip to Cáceres ( 1 h approx.)
- Check in at a charming hotel. Free time at leisure.
Day 4 - B/L
- Departure to Guijuelo (1 hour and a half).
- 11:00-14:00 Visit to 3rd Iberian dryer D.O. Guijuelo with great tasting (food).
- Exit to Salamanca ( 45min.)
- Guided tour We will visit the University City par excellence, the place where the first grammar of the Spanish language was born, a monumental complex of great beauty declared a World Heritage Site. We will visit the grandiose and baroque Plaza Mayor, the Casa de las Conchas (with more than 300 shells on its facade), its renowned University, the oldest in Spain and its grandiose Cathedral.
- Transfer to winery on the banks of the Douro river. Visit with tasting.
- Return to Salamanca. Check in. Free time at leisure.
Day 5 - B/L
- Continuation of trip to Segovia. Guided tour to the old city and Roman aqueduct are World Heritage Sites. In addition to the famous Aqueduct, a multitude of Romanesque churches, Cathedral and Alcazar make up a majestic landscape that dominates these Castilian lands.
- Lunch in a prestigious rotisserie, the typical dish of roast suckling pig.
- Transfer to the airport or hotel in Madrid.
- End of services (optional extension in Madrid: Gourmet days).
