Spring food festivals
Spring is that season full of fruits with that intense and appetizing flavor and fresh and colorful vegetables, when the sun and good weather arrive and the variety of colors flood our surroundings. And strawberry and cherry are some of those fruits that you can't resist eating, as well as the juicy and tender asparagus that you can taste in a thousand ways.
It is well known, and if not, we can confirm it, that Spain is one of the countries in the world with the highest number of festivals, fairs and gastronomic celebrations. Cherry Blossom Festival
It is a party classified as Festivity of National Tourist Interest which takes place in the Jerte Valley, Extremadura, where you can enjoy more than one and a half million cherry blossom trees, as well as taste their delicious native fruits, cherry or picota. Haven't you seen this beautiful explosion of color yet?
It is curious that this festival always begins on the same day as the Equinoccia, i.e., it always starts with the arrival of spring. March 21 and ends at the beginning of May, The cherry harvest (which usually lasts approximately three months due to the difference in ripening time of the different types), a period popularly known as “La Cerecera” (the cherry harvest).
Within the wide and varied program that they have prepared for this year 2015, we highlight the Thematic Week of Traditional Jerteña Gastronomy, Between April 23 and 26, where you can taste all the amazing flavors of the Jerte Valley area in a selection of traditional restaurants, either for lunch or dinner. Tudela del Duero Asparagus Exaltation Fair
This curious fair takes place every year in Tudela de Duero, 15 km from Valladolid, where both tourists and people from the surrounding area take the opportunity to taste and purchase a typical product as healthy as asparagus.

If you are not a very good friend of asparagus do not worry, not all the stalls are of this product, as they will alternate with other typical foods from the garden, with pastries and even with handmade ceramics.
To culminate this pleasant and different weekend, throughout the day you can have fun with the parades that will go around the city and with incredible parades of dance groups and traditional music. Do you dare with this traditional festival?
