Baked sardines with parsley and garlic
It's summer and in this hot season we do a lot of baked sardines with parsley and garlic since it is in season (from May to October), they are finger-licking good, very easy to make and super healthy.
Before explaining how I make them, here are a few interesting facts about the sardines:
Do you know why they are called sardines?
And why are they so healthy?
- They are so called because it was a very abundant fish in ancient times on the sardine coast, on the current island of Sardinia.
- They are very healthy due to their high content of Omega 3, minerals such as iodine, magnesium and selenium and vitamins such as D and E.
And how to cook them without odor?
- Make a paste of parsley, olive oil and garlic.
- Cover the baking tray with coarse salt and place the sardines on top (this will prevent them from giving off too much smell!). You don't need to remove the entrails, because whether grilled or baked, if you leave them, they will have more flavor and then you can easily remove them on the plate.
- Covers the sardines Bake at 200 for 15-20 minutes (depending on size). Halfway through cooking, turn them over so that they roast evenly.
I hope you try to make them, your health and your pocket 🙂 will thank you for it.
