Homemade chili crab with crabs
I have long wanted to make a Homemade chili crab with crabs. A dish that I tasted and that drove me crazy: aromatic, slightly spicy, addictive that saucy with intense sea flavor.
Whenever I eat a dish that I love in a restaurant I write down my feelings and the ingredients that I think the recipe contains, then I do some recipe research, if there are any on the internet, and I end up making the recipe my way, according to my tastes and also what is easier for me to get.
On this occasion, I found some delicious crabs, and I decided to make this Homemade chili crab with crabs which is really delicious, very easy to prepare and quick! I'll tell you how I made it:
INGREDIENTS: ( 2 persons)
- 4 crab
- 4 shallots
- 2 cloves garlic
- A cube of fresh ginger
- 1/2 chili or two chili peppers
- 400 ml chicken broth
- 1 dessert spoon of cornstarch
- 4 tablespoons of fried tomato or 1 tablespoon of tomato concentrate
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 egg
- A branch of citronella (lemongrass)
- Salt
- Optional: cilantro and chives
STEP BY STEP RECIPE:
- The first thing we will do is chop the garlic and ginger and cut into small pieces the chili and shallots. Put a couple of tablespoons of oil in a saucepan and over low heat fry the garlic and ginger first until lightly browned and then add the chili, shallots, half a teaspoon of salt and sauté 7 minutes more.
- Cut the crabs in halves. Add them to the casserole and raise the heat to medium and stir with the sauce until we see that they change color, from brown to red.
- Add the sugar and the tomato and stir and then add the citronella branch. Add the chicken broth and the cornstarch previously diluted in a little water. We raise the fire until it starts to boil and then we lower it to medium heat and let it cook for ten minutes. If you see that the sauce is still too liquid, cook a little more until it has a slightly thick texture.
- Taste and correct the salt if necessary. Turn off the fire. Beat the egg and pour it in a trickle little by little, stirring at the same time, and you will see that it will curdle with the heat of the casserole.
- You can optionally chop some coriander and chives and sprinkle on top.
Serve this homemade chili crab with crabs warm and prepare the napkins because you will lick your fingers!
