Homemade dumplings with shrimp and vegetables
Since I love Asian food so much, I've learned to make these homemade dumplings with shrimp and vegetables, The truth is that they are super easy to make and they come out like the ones in restaurants or even better, since sometimes in some restaurants they buy them already prepared, with many additives and they are only steamed, I use a mixture of iron and steam.
The wonton paste, as well as almost any oriental ingredient, I get them in Madrid in a store called Iberochina, which is also very well priced, not like in other large supermarkets that sell them at a gold price.
INGREDIENTS (for 16 units)
Wonton pasta
- 300 gr of shrimp
- 2 carrots
- 2 leeks
- 2 spring onions
- Soy sauce
- Fresh ginger
- Olive oil
- Optional: sesame seeds
STEP BY STEP RECIPE:
- Thaw the wonton dough about an hour before.
- Peel and grate the carrots, peel and finely chop the leeks, spring onions and a dice of ginger.
- Add a drizzle of olive oil and sauté the shrimp for 2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Add another little bit of oil and sauté the ginger with the rest of the vegetables. Add a spoonful of soy sauce, stir and let the liquids evaporate raising the heat. Turn off the heat and add the shrimp.
- We put a wonton wafer and a spoonful of filling in the middle and shape them as in the photo, like a sack. For them we take the four corners of the wafer, joining them with our fingers, and we give it a twist to close the bag.
- Repeat the operation until the filling runs out.
- In a frying pan pour a splash of oil, about two tablespoons, plus another two tablespoons of water, place all the bags face up in the pan, close together if possible (or choose the size of the pan according to the amount of wontons you have filled). Turn the heat on high, cover the pan and they will steam in a few minutes, until you see that the water has evaporated and you start to hear the oil frying or the bottom of the wontons are browning.
- Sprinkle a little sesame seeds and serve immediately with a little soy sauce for dipping (you can also prepare another sauce with soy sauce, a little rice vinegar and a little chopped fresh chili).
What do you think of these homemade dumplings with shrimp and vegetablesIsn't it not so complicated? I encourage you to do it and make the filling with whatever you like or have in the fridge: with minced meat or chicken, with zucchini, squash.....
