Earlier this month of March, we had the pleasure of joining GES Insurance in the trip we organized for their La Rioja 2013 Campaign. Only those agents or sales representatives who achieved the sales objectives had the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent incentive trip to La Rioja , We designed it for you to enjoy the wine, gastronomy and culture of these two wine regions.
Many of them did not know the destination chosen for this year, and it was a pleasant surprise for them to discover the magnificent world hidden behind its hundreds of wineries, its friendly people and its great history.
During the bus tour, it was a pleasure to be surrounded by a sea of vineyards and throughout the days it was even more pleasant to learn to taste different wines, different by region, by winery, by their months in barrel or not, by the type of grape or the elaboration method used.
In order to get the most out of the 4-day trip, so that they could learn and have as much fun as possible, without making it a monothematic trip, we organized a series of activities, all of them different from each other.
“The Juego of wine.” , They were able to make blends of wine from different grapes, invent names and design labels and proved their commercial and marketing skills to “sell their wine”. The wine made from ”Melchor" (Merlot) and "Camembert" (Cabernet) grapes was the cause of great laughter.
In the second winery, a sunny tour of the vineyards and an expert explanation from the owner culminated in a wonderful aperitif with a boot and chorizo under the shade of an almond tree. Idyllic... then, after some brief and wise indications, the masosados had to pruning some vines, and ended bottling and labeling a wine in the family's subway cellar, which, of course, they took home.
But not only did they play with wine, they also had to get their hands “in the cookie jar” in the pintxo contest we organized by teams. Their ingenuity and imagination, team skills, cleanliness and organization were the keys to award the prize for the best pintxo. We believe that the tapas route During this workshop they had a lot of fun and learned that it is not only about bread and ingredients, but that strategy and team connection is fundamental!
The trip could not miss some historical and cultural visits, such as the fantastic guided walk through Logroño and through the narrow and medieval streets of Logroño. Laguardia with the breathtaking views of the valley from the Abacial Tower .... or the very interesting visit to the Monasteries of Yuso and Suso, The town is located in the beautiful valley of San Millán, the cradle of the Castilian language and surrounded by mountains.
Spa, paintball and a great gala party as the culmination of the trip, where they received their diplomas and were able to dance and have drinks in an incomparable setting: the majestic hotel and wineries of Marqués de Riscal.
And all of them with a excellent gastronomy , with character, rich and varied (from the delicious tender roast suckling lamb in Ribera del Duero, continuing with chops with vine shoots, cod and potatoes Riojana style, piquillo peppers, the famous pintxos in Logroño, etc).
Culinary Spain is confident that this trip has served to increase their energy and desire to be the winners again next year.....
