When there is an excess of free radicals in the body, they can damage cells and tissues, which can contribute to the development of chronic diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer's disease. Antioxidants help to neutralize free radicals, thus protecting our cells and tissues from damage.

Antioxidants are found in a variety of foods, especially in colorful fruits and vegetables. Some of the most common antioxidants include:

1- Vitamin C (fruits such as citrus fruits, strawberries ... vegetables such as peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, roasted potatoes ... ....)

2- Vitamin E (seed oils, olive oil, nuts, avocado, canned food, etc),

3- Beta-carotene (pumpkin, mango, papaya, carrot, carrot, pineapple, melon, orange, tomato, watermelon and bell pepper, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, spinach...)

4- Selenium (fish and red meat or poultry, vegetables, seafood, eggs, tuna, garlic, mushrooms, grains or cereals...)

However, it is important to keep in mind that taking antioxidant supplements in excess can be harmful and excessive consumption is not recommended.
