Whole wheat yogurt sponge cake with walnuts and chia
If you feel like the classic yogurt cake, something healthier, try this one. whole wheat yogurt cake with walnuts and chia. The change is the normal flour for wholemeal, the white sugar for whole cane sugar which is unrefined, add walnuts and chia seeds that have a lot of omega3. An ideal cake to have for breakfast with coffee with milk or tea in the afternoon!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 yogurt
- 1 measure yogurt sunflower oil

- 2 1/2 measures of whole wheat flour yogurt
- 2 measures of whole cane sugar (or panela) yoghurt
- 3 eggs
- 1 sachet of baking powder
- A handful of walnuts
- One tablespoon of chia seeds
STEP BY STEP RECIPE:
- Beat the eggs with the panela, until it takes volume.
- Add the sunflower and beat. Then add the yogurt and beat again until everything is well integrated.
- Mix the flour with the baking powder and sprinkle little by little over the previous mixture while whisking until well blended.
- Add walnuts and some chia seeds.
- Preheat the oven to 180ºc. Grease a cake pan with a little sunflower oil.
- Pour the batter into the mold and top with some walnuts and a few chia seeds.
- Bake for 30/35 minutes, until the tip comes out clean when pierced with a knife.
