Gastronomic and beach getaway Oliva nova Beach & Golf Resort. Whenever we choose a destination for a weekend getaway or for our vacation, the first thing we look for is that it should be a place where we can enjoy our vacations. gastronomic destination. And by that I mean that the attractive, both in terms of variety and quality. and, of course, that the environment is pleasant, beautiful and with the possibility of enjoying the beach, the mountains or visiting cities or towns of cultural or historical interest.
On this occasion, and after many months without being able to leave our city, Madrid, we longed for the sea, the freedom to walk endlessly on the beach and breathe that clean, fresh air. And we decided to Oliva nova Beach & Golf Resort , located between Oliva and Denia on the Valencian coast and in front of a wonderful beach of very fine sand, crystal clear water and miles of coastline for walking.
I'm not usually a big fan of hotel restaurants. This is not to say that they are not good and that they have not evolved a lot in recent years. There are already numerous hotel establishments in Spain with restaurants of the highest level., I am more of an explorer of the restaurants in the area, and so I take the opportunity to walk around and get to know the surroundings. However, on this occasion we wanted total relaxation, not to move much and I had been recommended the restaurants in Oliva Nova.
And indeed, they have been a wonderful experience and I have been amazed by the quality of the dishes on the menu, in addition to the fast, professional and very friendly service.
I will highlight two of them, so as not to go on too long:
The top restaurant of Oliva nova is undoubtedly Aura, We liked it so much that we had lunch and dinner another day. Product of the highest quality in both fish and meat, which surprised me very much that on the coast I could eat such tender and tasty meat. I comment the dishes that we tasted that we liked the most and that we will certainly repeat when we return:
- Steak tartar with bourbon, Meaux mustard ice cream and yolk sauce
- Flamed octopus with leek, potato and paprika
- House specialty: Tomahawk, with sauces and condiments: boletus cream, mashed potatoes and roasted mushrooms.
- Grilled sea bass, with traditional ‘gamba amb bleda’, crispy rice and Mediterranean XO sauce
- And for dessert, toblerone filled with tiramisu and carrot cake.
The Golf Club Restaurant with wonderful views of the countryside is a very peaceful and beautiful place. There we tried the clóchinas, the best I've ever had in my life, really. In case you do not know, they are typical of Valencia and differ from the mussels in that they are raised in the waters of the city of Valencia and get to have a greater flavor, due to the salt given off by the water in this area. In addition, their size compared to the mussel is smaller and has a more orange color.
The paella that we had was very well made, cooked to perfection and very tasty, as was the grilled cuttlefish, tender and very fresh.
If you are foodies, you will know that Denia's prawns are well known and that is why one night we went to pay homage to the restaurant, which is a classic to enjoy the highest quality product.
Of course, the hotel facilities are superb, modern and clean, with a wide range of leisure (and kids clubs for children), on the beachfront, and with a spa and gym also brilliant. For golf lovers there is a magnificent golf course. Our room was premium, very spacious, modern, overlooking the sea, with two large rooms to share with my daughters very comfortable and independent.
In short, we would love to repeat this gastronomic and beach getaway at Oliva nova Beach & Golf Resort and to continue to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea and its gastronomy. We return home with a very good taste in our mouths, a good color in our cheeks and a smile on our faces. Objective accomplished.
