Okra or okra sautéed with Indian style spices
This week I have discovered a new food, with which I have made this Okra or okra sautéed with Indian style spices.
But what is the okra? I have informed myself a little bit and summarizing, it is a plant of the family of the malvaceae, hardly known in Europe but very extended in Asia, America and Africa where it is native. A curious fact is that, it is also called “lady's fingers” or ¨lady's fingers”.” for its thin and elongated shape. I think you should try it, because I was surprised by its 
In addition, it is a food full of nutrients, It is high in fiber, low in calories, has no saturated fat and is a great antioxidant, as it has a high Vitamin C content. So, do you dare to try it? this recipe has turned out delicious!.
INGREDIENTS:
- 400gr okra
- 1 medium chive
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon caraway or cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds or coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon powdered ginger
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 cube fresh ginger
- Extra virgin olive oil
STEP BY STEP RECIPE:
- The first thing to do is to wash the okra well and let it dry. Then cut it into small pieces of about one centimeter, discarding the stalk at both ends.
- Cut the spring onion into brunoise or small cubes, and finely chop the ginger. In a frying pan add a dash of olive oil and fry the onion and ginger over low heat until transparent, about 8 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a mortar and pestle, add the caraway or cumin seeds and coriander and crush to a powder. Mix with the ginger and turmeric, salt and pepper.
- We pour the okra to the pan, along with the spice mixture and stir to integrate well. Cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes, stirring from time to time. And ready!
